Wedding season is in full flow for us here at Jay's Photography and what a year it has been so far. We started off with a fun packed Charlie and the Chocolate factory themed wedding for Catherine and Dean held at the Marsham Court hotel in Bournemouth. The bride and groom made all the decorations themselves including a beautiful themed archway at the entrance to their aisle, and baskets of Chocolate on every table for their guest to enjoy. With the Groom dressed in a Cadburys Purple suit and the Bride in a stunning Lace gown, the sun shone for a perfect March day.
Next to tie the knot was Paul and Liz at the beautiful Copperridge Inn near Shaftesbury. Even though we had some light rain, that didn't stop the happy couple enjoying their day. With the bridal party arriving in a fleet of racing cars owned by their close friends and finishing off the evening with a fantastic party dance for all their guest to enjoy, I have to say this was a Wedding I thoroughly enjoyed being part of.
St Bartholames Church in Blandford was my next stop for Mr and Mrs Miles. A quaint little church in the tiny village of Sutton Waldron was the perfect setting for this happy couple. Love and laughter was certainly the order of the day for Sandy and Nick.
4 months before their big day I met up with Kirsty and Jim to discus their wedding plans at the Eastclose Hotel in Hampshire. Such a lovely easy going couple, I knew this was going to be a wedding of love and Romance and it definitely was. This happy couple didnt hold back on enjoying themselves either for the photo's with the Groom proudly showing off his new Bride by riding a vintage bike around the grounds of there wedding venue. Super day for a super couple.
I love the idea of a Bride trashing her dress after her Wedding but it was a first for me to capture Lindsey doing it on the day. When the heavens opened for Daniel and his Bride, all our plans for their formal images went out the window so we decided with the agreement of the vicar, to capture the happy couple inside the church. It was then off to honeybrook farm where the Bride and Groom made full use of the facilities in the rain! Watching a Bride in a gorgeous Wedding gown use a Zipwire, a see-saw and a slide was truly amazing. They also had a walk around the farm to greet the animals before changing and heading back to the barn to breakdancing the night away. An unforgettable Wedding for sure.
Im halfway through my wedding season and I can't wait to capture more memories for my future Bride and Grooms. No two Weddings are the same but all my couples are equally wonderful and a pleasure to be involved with.

This Season has seen me travel all over Dorset to capture some Beautiful Weddings for some very special couples. This year has been especially enjoyable for me as i also got to go back to where my Photography journey started, Paris. All my couple's this year helped make my job even more enjoyable by being so friendly and so much FUN. We had some great laughs which included riding a Rodeo Bull, Bouncy castles, the Poole land train, an open topped car in the rain, and some fun in victorian baths. I thank each and everyone of you for letting me be part of your special day. Paris was out of this world, hard work as i, along with my back up Photographer Jude, Captured a 3 day Wedding in the centre of Paris. The Wedding service was somewhat different to our traditional one back home, in that the Bride ad Groom met before the service and with their guests, all walked in together. The service itself was taken by the Deputy Mayor in the grandest room i have ever seen. The reception was spectacular as well with it being held in the local park which had it's own Fun Fair, Animal Park and Water park.
After a very busy Wedding season this year i thought that things may start to quieten down a bit,but no! As we head into the Christmas season i've had to close my diary until January as im fully booked up. Great for me but frustrating for my regular Christmas clients i know.
I have decided with a heavy heart to concentrate on my Newborn and Wedding Photography as of 2016, this way i can guarantee that you, my clients, will get my full attention and hopefully will enable me to attend training courses with a more stress free mind.
Of course with all the training and new products comes extra bills, so as of January 1st 2016, my package prices will be increasing on Weddings. My Newborn and Cakesmash packages will stay the same until i have completed my next set of qualifications. With the price increases will come more offers within my packages. Photo Albums and Prints/Canvases will be included in the price and also from time to time a special discount voucher offering half price products and Photoshoots.
My home studio had a revamp in October and is almost complete wth new walls and flooring. We are just awaitng for the backdrop system to be fitted and new overhead lighting which will make a great difference with storage space.
All that is left for me to say is Thank you to all my returnng clients and those who have used my services for the first time this year and i do hope that you come back in 2016. Merry Christmas and a very happy and peaceful new year to you all. Jay :)
July and August brought lots of 1st Birthday celebrations in the form of Cakesmash photoshoots, I love doing these shoots, full of suprise and wonderment on the little one's faces but sometimes they don't all go to plan. But we still manage to capture some fantastic images which hopefully will be treasured and looked at for a very long time.
This Summer also brought a great many Wedding's to my diary, Having only completed 3 last year, which were more as part of me being a guest than a Photographer, i was a little apprehensive at taking on so many for 2015, but after the first one back in May, i enjoyed the day so much i didn't think twice about shooting all of them this year.
As well as Wedding's and Studio session's i also completed my City and Guilds level 2 at college, and became a recognised member of the Guild of Photographers, something of which i am very proud of.
I first met Stacey and Kevin over a year ago when they decided to book me as their Wedding Photographer. We kept in regular contact discussing the plans for their big day at The Cumberland Hotel, Bournemouth, so when it finally arrived, everything went like clockwork. The great thing about Stacey and Kevin was not only was i made to feel welcome as a guest but also as a friend. We shared lots of laughs and tears on the day and my 2nd Photographer Jude, even helped out entertaining the children. There was Champagne and Strawberries during the preparations, and the whole service was beautiful. During the evening reception, the groom suprised his wife with a dance dressed in a grass skirt and coconuts! A truly amazing day for an amazing couple.
I've never really spent anytime wandering around Blandford so when Emma and Lee suggested they have their Pre shoot there, I was more than happy. With the Wheeping Willows and beautiful River Stour, we headed off along the pathway to find an old Railway House surrounded by fields of long grasses. The couple plan to return to the River for their Intimate Photoshoot after their Wedding in a few weeks time. I can't wait.
1st Birthday's are always special, even more so for Ruby who came and celebrated with a Princess Themed Cakesmash. Pink balloons, Tiara's a Tutu and lot's and lot's of fun all finished off with a nice warm bubble bath.
Wedding season is in full swing and next to celebrate in the diary was Martin and Mona. 2 Cake's, 2 Dresses and lots of fun and games were on the schedule through out the day. With the ceremony taking place at Bournemouth Town Hall it was then off to the Queen's Hotel and Spa in Bournemouth to continue the celebrations. A model balloon maker, games on the lawn, candy floss and a sweet table where all there for the guest to enjoy.
10th June 2014 was a very special day for me, I decided to give up my full time job and start Jay's Photography, and now a year on I am so happy that i did. It's been very hard work, but i have loved every minute of it. I have had the pleasure of Photographing Weddings, Parties, bumps, babies, toddlers, families, even puppies! I would like to say a very big thank you to all my clients for your support during the past year, and i look forward to capturing your special memories in the future.
This coming year will see the studio being transformed with new lighting, backdrops and lots more props for your little one's.
On our birthday this year i decided to celebrate with a little party and offer Free Photoshoot's via my Facebook page for a selected few who were invited to join us. Below is a selection of those Photoshoots.
A beautiful sunny day awaited Simon and Charlotte at Bournemouth Town Hall, where they were joined by family and friends to celebrate their marriage. After the ceremony it was a walk down to Bournemouth Lower Gardens for some photographs, while the best men arranged a suprise for the Bride and Groom in the form of the Batmobile, parked up in the town square, which made for some quirky images. The guests then made their way to the Antelope Hotel, Poole, to continue the celebrations while the Bride and Groom went to Coy Pond and Poole Park for some more intimate photographs.
With Wedding Season fast approaching im really excited and very much looking forward to capturing some beautiful images for my clients on their special day. Getting married inbetween Christmas and New Year for some would sound like a very stressful occassion, but not for the delightful Mr and Mrs Begley who did just that. The Days Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth was the setting for Paul and Qian's special day. Over looking the beautiful beach of Bournemouth with views out to the Isle of Wight, the winter wedding went without a hitch. With glorious sunshine , the bride arrived in a white Rolls Royce escorted by her two bridesmaids. After the service it was a quick trip to the clifftops to take in the spectacular views across the sea.
1st Birthday celebrations with the lovely Eloise who enjoyed using a large spoon to smash up her cake, and with a nice warm bubble bath for after's, She certainly had a day to remember.
Sophie had great fun celebrating her 1st birthday with a cake smash photoshoot. Feet first she got stuck right in getting messy, and mum was on hand for the big clean up afterwards.
Emotional and Beautiful was how the guests described the wedding of Cheryl and Jason. A white Rolls Royce arrived at the Bride's parents house and drove the Bride and her father to St Micheal's Church, Hamworthy, where the Groom and guests were all waiting. The couple then went on to Upton working men's club for their wedding breakfast and carried on with an evening reception into the night.

W ith live bands, entertainment, food, drink and lots of stalls, there was plenty for the crowds to do throughout the event.
A small intimate Wedding joined Ashley and Sam together at The Guildhall, Poole . Both Bride and Groom shared a love not only for each other but also for their theme for the day. The Groom wore a Captain America T-Shirt beneath his suit, whilst the bride showed off some stunning Marvel printed leggins beneath her beautiful smokey grey gown. With a convoy of motorcycles escorting them to the St. Leonard Hotel, West Parley, the Newlyweds set off on a trike taking in the beautiful scenery of Bounemouth Beach along the way. Family and friends were there to greet them and continued sharing their special day together.

With the Bride arriving in a VW camper van and the groom in a bright pink Fiat car, you just knew this day was going to be fun. The ceremony took place in the Old Library overlooking the beautiful fields of grazing sheep, which concluded with a Champagne Cream Tea.
It was the 14th year for Grooves on the Green at Ashley Cross this year with plenty of song and dance. This small festival held in the lovely Ashley Cross park was enjoyed by residence and visitors of all ages.
Lots of music, dancing and plenty of fun was had over three days at the Wimborne Folk Festival this year, with the weather being especially good. Morris dancing, Puppet show's and with live bands playing in the paddock it was a great success.
